Moving Forward

Always moving forward is the philosophy by which Kristin MacMillan, president of Imprint Plus lives. “Keep moving forward,” she said. “If you worry about the holes behind you, you will fall into the ones in front of you.”

MacMillan is accountable for successfully moving the Canadian-based company through substantial growth and change. Since taking reigns as president, she has successfully led the office products company to $15 million in annual sales across more than 70 countries. The company is a leading manufacturer of customized, re-usable name badge and signage systems.

She has spearheaded innovative software and new product launches, developed overseas markets and reduced lead times to 24 hours. The company serves 21 industries and partners with several Fortune 500 companies, including Walgreen’s, Macys, Marriott, and UPS.

MacMillan holds a bachelors of commerce from Laurentian University in Ontario. Prior to joining Imprint Plus, she was a principal with Ernst & Young in Vancouver for 13 years, during which time she received her CA designation and began helping financial institutions with assurance services.

For the past decade, MacMillan and her two partners, Marla Kott and Ellen Flanders, have consistently ranked high on PROFIT/Chatelaine’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in Canada. She said that even knowing what she knows now she wouldn’t have changed much with the path her career has taken. “I learned about business working in a global professional services firm servicing a wide variety of customers. I was then able to leverage that knowledge in a much smaller business,” she said.

She is a member of the Office Products Women in Leadership, a non-profit professional organization connecting women in leadership roles in the office products industry. Imprint Plus is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise, affiliated with WEConnect Canada and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council in the U.S.
